Form Submissions Not Updating Contact Data

I wanted to flag a significant issue we’ve encountered with form submissions and contact data handling.
One of our clients recently reported receiving outdated information through instant notification emails. After working with your support team, we were informed:
“The contact holds the same information as submitted by a form the first time. A re-submission only updates the activity in CRM, but does not change the actual contact information.”
This creates a serious reliability problem for both forms and automations.
Many of our clients depend on forms for ongoing communication where users submit new information over time. If the contact record does not update with each submission, the system surfaces outdated data, making instant notification emails misleading and difficult to trust.
More broadly, this also introduces data integrity concerns. If a user updates key information - such as their name or phone number - those changes are not reflected in the contact record. The only current workaround is manual intervention, which defeats the purpose of using an automated platform.
At a minimum, there should be a clear and configurable option to:
Update contact records with each new submission, or
Treat each submission as a distinct record with its own associated data
As it stands, this limitation significantly impacts the usability of forms for real-world client scenarios.
