Conversation AI Leads to external CRMs?

New here. Right now it says Conversations AI (Receptionist) does not connect to external CRMs through Zapier. Does this mean clients have to log into Business App to see all new incoming leads? I'm assuming any business profitable enough to implement Chatbot or Receptionist with Email Campaigns already uses a CRM, how does this make sense, I need more information.
Vendasta AI says this would require custom API workflow, is this something we have access to, how much does it cost? Need to know so we can create package pricing correctly if this will be needed for most clients. As I'm assuming clients don't want to move their entire customer database into a new one.
I tried to look for these answers but couldn't find them here, sorry if it has been answered already.

At this time, Conversations AI does not have a native, direct integration with external CRMs through Zapier on its own. Instead, the AI Receptionist creates events such as calls, chats, and new leads that are stored as CRM entities or activities within Business App, which acts as the system of record.
From there, external CRM connectivity is possible, but it is handled at the platform and automation level, not directly within the AI product.
Specifically:
- Business App has a Zapier integration and supports some external CRM connections.
- Using Business App automations, events like “New CRM Contact Created” or similar triggers can be used to:
- Send data via webhooks
- Connect to Zapier
- Push data directly into a third-party CRM, depending on setup and CRM capabilities
These automations are configured within the SMB’s or partner’s own environment and may require technical setup, but they do not require the AI Receptionist itself to support integrations out of the box.
