Ask for reviews only once the job is paid in full

A new zero-balance option for QuickBooks Online sends review requests only when an invoice is fully paid, not when it's first raised or partly paid.

Review requests that match the customer's experience
The QuickBooks Online connection now includes a
zero balance invoice only
setting. When it's on, a review request goes out only once the invoice's balance due is fully cleared. Invoices that are raised but unpaid, or partly paid, no longer trigger a request.
Why it matters
Before, review requests from QuickBooks Online could go out the moment an invoice was created, whatever its payment status. That could mean asking customers for a review before the job was finished, or before they'd had a chance to review the work. Now, review requests line up with a completed, paid job, so customers are asked at the right time, helping businesses collect more - and better - reviews.
Who it's for
  • SMBs that invoice through QuickBooks Online and use automated review requests
  • Service businesses that bill on deposit, in stages, or after job completion
How to get started
  1. Go to
Business App > Administration > Integrations > QuickBooks Online.
  2. Confirm the account's QuickBooks Online connection is active, with review requests enabled.
  3. Toggle on "Zero balance invoices only."
  4. Save. From then on, review requests are sent only when an invoice is fully paid.
Note: New QuickBooks Online connections also offer this option during setup.
