Add-ons & Automations

It would be great if we were able to make marketplace add-ons generate tasks or projects through Automations.

Sumi Uzir, Yes, it could be a combination of the 3 (fulfillment, internal follow-up, or partner/customer onboarding). We are not focusing on a specific workflow at this point. As you can see, this was added back in 2023, so my recollection of what we were trying to do is foggy to near non-existent. However, we use the Task Manager system for every task we do; however, the focus on this tool in terms of automations is...so, so.

Currently there is only one trigger for project creation off of a template. That is on product activation, and is controlled at the product level. Opening this up to be triggered off of any other existing triggers via the Automation system would enable all sorts of new types of projects to be able to be injected that aren't only based on product fulfillment.

Hello Zach,
Thank you for the thoughtful suggestion — it's a great idea, and I really appreciate you taking the time to share it.
To help us explore this further, could you share a bit more detail around how you’d envision using this? For example:
What kinds of tasks or projects would you want to generate when a Marketplace add-on is purchased or activated?
Are there specific add-ons or workflows you’re trying to streamline?
Would this apply mostly to fulfillment, internal follow-up, or partner/customer onboarding?
We want to make sure we fully understand the intent and potential impact before digging deeper, and your input would be incredibly helpful in shaping that discussion.
Thanks again — really appreciate your insights, and looking forward to learning more!
Best regards,
Sumi
