Add Multiple Units of a Top-Level Product or Package to an Order or Opportunity
We need the ability to add more than one unit of the same top-level product or package to both opportunities and orders. Currently, opportunities only allow a single instance of a package, and orders only allow a single instance of a top-level product. This limitation creates significant friction for quoting, pricing, and billing. Many of our deals involve multiple units of the same product or package. Examples include: Selling 20 websites to a single customer Selling a package containing 3 products in a quantity of 50 for an enterprise-level deal In these situations, the current workflow forces us to either: Create 20–50 separate orders/opportunities, or Convert 19–49 units into "add-ons," which breaks pricing logic, discounts, and reporting. Neither option is scalable or accurate for quoting, billing, or forecasting. Interestingly, if we build the deal at the opportunity level and then generate an order from the opportunity, we can edit the quantity of the main product on the resulting order. This indicates that the order object itself supports multi-quantity top-level items, the UI simply prevents us from adding multiple units directly. Enabling users to add multiple units of a top-level product directly to an order, add multiple units of a package directly to an opportunity would allow us to maintain accurate pricing, discounting, and reporting when quoting multi-unit product deals and enterprise-level opportunities without workarounds.
